Default Free-revving...

I know revving the engine without load on it isn't the best for it but at what point is it actually damaging?

I just got a new 3" TBE installed (Maxxfab w/ Magnaflow muffler [sounds f'in amazing]) and all my friends always want me to rev it up for them. I don't want to dissapoint the fans so I always do but I afterwards I feel guilty, like I'm hurting my baby. I feel the worse when somebody comes over and wants to hear it and I have to start the car up just to rev it up a little so they can get a taste.

I also find myself sitting at stop lights just revving when nobody is around now... never done that before... it really is an awesome sounding exhaust.

I don't sit there boucing it off the rev limiter... just a few good revs to get some popping and gurgling. Is my car pissed at me or does she love the attention?

it really isnt a huge deal. just make sure the car is fully warmed up when doing so, to make sure you have proper lubrication. your car loves the attention and im sure you do too! if you dont redline it you'll be fine. plus you have to do it for the fans!

Revving without load on the motor causes washboarding. The rings bounce off the cylinder wall and cause pits in them that can only be taken out by re-honing the cylinders.

yeah ALWAYS reving isn't good... but if you do rev, make sure your not just turning on the engine then immeditly pegging it... that's bad m'kay. let it idle for a good minute before getting on it. ESP when it's cold..

3 Suggestion's

1 - Warm up before revving..
2 - Don't bounce off the rev-limiter..
3 - Don't do it Continuously/all the time!
