engine whine

Hello I am new to the srt's, my issue is I have a engine with 39ooo kms on it. I have this engine mounted in an 87 shelby charger, the donor car was a wreck. I just got all the goodies to run the car it cranks without ease and idles like new. The only issue I have is it whines, my first impression was the timming belt was rubbing but it wasn't, the engine sat for about 3 years. it ran for about 3 min before I shut it down, Now I'm really not sure what to do.
It sounds similar to a high compretion v8.

Have you checked the turbo for shaft play? Mine did that when the turbo went out. The whine would increase with rpm and load while driving.
