Thanks for shitting on my thread Elmer. I have currently put 250 miles on the car and I have used about a hair more than the half tank mark. I guess I'll see when I do finally get on empty. I can tell you that I would have had to coast home on fumes last night if I was driving the SRT, yet I still have almost a half tank, according to my "incorrect gas gauge".
There was no way I could have driven "conservatively" in the SRT. It would have been impossible. I'm doing this to save money on gas so I don't have to move closer to my work. I live in a really nice place that is great for raising kids. I have a 5 year old son who is about to finish Kindergarten, and a 9 month old son, and I don't think it is fair to make him move somewhere and get all new friends. I moved a lot when I was growing up and I know how much it sucked.
I'm not some kind of idiot who can use basic math. I'm getting at least 10-15mpg more than in the SRT. I spend 40 cents less per gallon to fill up. My insurance went down $20 a month. It may not seem like much to you, but it is important to me.
I like living in a place that is fairly cheap and is a brand new house. I like my wife only having to work 2 days a week so she can actually be home with our children every day.
I owed way too much on the SRT since I put nothing down on it when I bought it. I probably paid too much for the Corolla, but it is saving me money every month and it will probably last forever.
So to all those who wished me luck thanks.
And to the others well......nevermind.
I won't be going anywhere.

Seriously dude, I have no problems with you. It is just with all of the other people that waste bandwidth telling me I am wasting bandwidth. I never meant for this to turn into what it has, but then again this is SRTforums and I should have known better.
Peace.

I think you have just witnessed why I don't post a lot. It does no good, most people here are not interested in having respectful, informative discussions. They just want to bash others. Again, peace to you.

Good luck with the new ride Enapa

Actually being full of BS and making stuff up ARE two different things. I never said he was knowingly making incorrect statements (making stuff up), he may truly believe what he is saying, but the fact that what he is saying is wrong makes him full of BS. Get it? You really seem to have problems with simple concepts.
Get over yourself; seriously. He's presenting information based off a gauge in his car. Period, end of fucking discussion. And even though his gauge might not be as precise as your pointless calculations, it's not going to be THAT far off. (Not to mention his YEARS of driving TWO SRT-4's to work, knowing how much he has to pay in gas and so forth)

All I am trying to do is correct a few incorrect statements. You know its funny, when a noob makes bogus statements, he gets flamed. But, when a long time member that is a friend to others is the one making incorrect statements and then someone questions it, the person questioning it gets flamed for "taking things too seriously".
It has NOTHING to do with a veteran vs. noob. I'm STILL a noob in many ways when it comes to our cars, tuning and so forth. I'll openly admit that and not care. However, I am NOT a noob to this board. Those are also two different things.
If you weren't taking this too seriously, you would have shut up a long time ago and backed out of the thread. It's obvious that NO ONE in this thread appreciates your input because it's unnecessary, quite frankly.
And again, you're questioning his GAUGE, not him. As for his former gas costs with his SRT-4 and his wife's Corolla, you simply CANNOT know his driving conditions, distance, etc.

The data that is being put forth here does not make sense and I am questioning it, simple as that. I was not making it personal. It is all of the attacks that have been directed at me that have turned this personal and have made this thread longer than what it needs to be. So congratulations to you for making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Haha...now it's MY turn to say that YOU are full of BS. Read all the other posts in this thread. YOU are the only one being an ass. It may seem like you're just 'questioning his statements', but you're not. There is NO reason for someone to come onto the forum, post about selling their car over gas prices (which at this point isn't crazy) and then make up some wild stories involving a Corolla S and gas mileage. YOU have been making something out of nothing.

There's a huge difference between listening to a person, nodding and then saying "Hmm...that sounds a bit off. According to my calculations, this is where you should be at. Let's see if we can't use this information to maybe help you and your data." compared to "zomg, I am a rocket science...look at my amazing MATHS. you are full of bullshit, blaaaaaah blah blah."
Of course, the second example is how you chose to act. You weren't simply saying "It looks like your gauge might be off, because the math doesn't add up." You IMPLIED that he was completely incorrect, spouting bullshit and not knowing what the hell he was doing.

ENapa, enjoy your new car and best wishes to you and your family.
Let's couple the bolded part with another one of your delightful quotes:

Ok...so, again, who is attacking who? Eric came in here to post about a decision he made, he gave a brief reason and was basically saying "I'll miss my car, thanks for the good times." You came in here challenging his decision, calling him DUMB and furthermore accusing him of being 'full of BS' and getting in his face about your calculations.
Tell me HOW that wouldn't come off as taking it personally? Or how that could be taken as a 'friendly' discussion, or you simply 'questioning his data'. You were the jackass that decided to be a prick about all of this...and no one is attacking you. They are simply responding to YOUR tactless comments and rude jabs.

See my previous post. You have a very, very distorted view of a 'respectful, informative discussion' because ultimately, you provided neither respect nor an informative discussion.
S2R0T044, you are taking this WAAAAY too seriously. You need to take your own advice and back out of this thread. You are adding NOTHING informative and are just keeping the nonsense going.
Thanks for the defense Josh. I know how much I'm saving already. I got the car Tuesday evening. Drove it home and have not had to put gas in it yet. I would have already had to fill up at least once in the SRT. I have driven over 300 miles on less than 3/4 tank.
On another note having cruise control is pretty cool. And I just realized today that I have clear third brake light. LOL The storage compartments in this thing are amazing. It has TWO glove boxes. I can actually fit my golf clubs in my trunk without having to take my driver out of the bag. Heck I could get in the trunk with my clubs in there. LOL
The color is simply amazing. I have yet to find someone who wasn't shocked at how good the color looks.

Haha, w0rd dude. I will be ignoring any further comments, I just wanted to say my piece to that guy and get him out of my friend's face. Sorry for going off the deep end, Eric. I've just been dealing with clueless punks a lot this week and I snapped.

How is the room/car configuration compared to your wife's Corolla? I remember you commenting on how uncomfortable and small it felt when driving it. I haven't looked into the model/year differences with yours, but it sounds like it's a lot nicer/roomier?
