I love the new Evo's. The front end is just sick looking.

Now, if only I could afford one.

Yeah, tuning costs on a Bimmer are completely off the charts. My buddy put a full exhaust (header, high flow cat, and everything else) on his E46 M3 and it cost him like $5,500. For that money I bought wheels and tires ($1,500), suspension ($850), Stage 2 ($900), CAI ($150), Exhaust ($600), motor mounts ($150), steel wheels with winter tires ($200 used), MP shift ball ($50), Boomba CC ($50), and I still got a grand to play with. On top of that, my SRT is faster than his M3 (although I wouldn't mind the RWD).

u guys are all crazy. it handles better than the 9 and it has more power to make up for the added weight which makes it nearly as fast in 0-60. modified mag says it wont be easy to mod cause the cars ecu is very smart and picky kinda like our 05's. has the strongest 5 speed than any other evo. and the MR's paddle shifter is great according to modified. but they recommend letting the tranny work for u instead of using the shifters. they say the tranny keeps u in the perfect power band around the curvy's. aluminum block is an upset though. that means more work to make huge power. like 1000hp. but back to modding. keep the ecu happy and ull be fine.

p.s. would much rather have 08 sti. hands down more attractive, very sophisticated, easier to mod, and lighter. if i can even trade my car for an 08 sti i would.

I'm not hating at all. It's just when I think of an "Evo" I think of the VIII and IX body style. Not to mention the IX has the Mivec head, larger turbo, and upgraded front fascia. The new engine shows great gains from minimal mods, but again, I really like the 4G63. Evo IX .

Oh and nobody be stupid, the 335 is by no means slow. Quit the hate, twins and RWD in a Bimmer, whats not to love?

Lots of BS in this thread. For one a new Bimmer costs absolutely zero dollars to maintain for 4 years or xx,xxx miles. Second an srt-4 that gets 25mpg ... hmm highly suspect. Lastly a Vishnu tuned 335i will dust an srt-4 with minimal mods period. And one more thing

Vishnu Performance Systems

2500.00 for a 400 hp 335i ya....... seems comparable with turbo kits and supporting mods for an srt-4 with likely much better drivability/reliability.

yeah, I have to agree.. for 40K you are NOT getting what you paid for.. there are tons of other cars in that price range that will torture the evo in all aspects. As long as you are happy though.. enjoy
