Default Buying this weekend

I am going to be purchasing an 05 SRT4 this weekend... My question is what do you guys suggest me look for under the hood and such to make sure nothing was tampered with completely? I am sort of new to this whole thing and just don't want to buy something that was raced every weekend at the track and such. Any input will be much appreciated.

Ask someone locally to go with you to look at it. Too many things to look for.

You're in Chicago, should jump on chicagolandsrtclub.com and go from there. I'm selling my 04 with some DCR mods with 22k miles for 12,500. Black with vipers, kicker and sunroof.

The car I am looking at I just pulled up it's carfax report... It has had one previous owner but has been in two accidents... one of which required replacing quite a bit of front end parts... they want 14 for it... You think it's worth it if I can talk them down at all? I am bringing my buddy who is a raceshop owner with me tomorrow to look.

Well, right off I see that the boost solenoids are missing (hiding?). They attach to the top of the stock airbox.
That airbox appear to be brand new as well.

Does the line off the top of the wastegate actuator look like it's cut off to anyone else?

Wait...you're about to pay $14k for a car that's been in two accidents?

Please don't do it.

$14k is too much for even a clean title car that has 55k on it. Please be patient and wait for the right deal to come along. If you get this, then I hope you have a lot of problems with it because you would deserve it.

/\ Harsh... I would never pay 14k for it... I am actually just going to keep looking. Two accidents and other random things going on with it that everybody here has been nice enough to point out have changed my mind a bit on it. I will keep looking around.

I went and looked at this car today and you guys were all right about it... hahaha... I had it on the hwy during the test drive and it gave me a CEL. I looked at the guy that came with from the dealership and he was all "We can get that fixed for you sir that is not a problem." All I said back was "hopefully we can get it back to your dealership because I'm not walking back!" hahaha I handed him the keys and ran! The boost gauge was all over the friggin place too! The solenoids were under the airbox...

I drove that car yesterday before I saw the carfax. It had the CE lighton still and also liked to pop out of 3rd gear a lot.
I ran out of there after the guy showed me the carfax.
