Beep/Ding noise shortly after Start up

Hey guys,

Its been awhile since i've been on here . . .mainly because I had sold my original SRT years ago . . but I finally have a new one!

Anyways, my question:

Occasionally, shortly after I start the car, I hear a "ding" noise. The only way I can explain the sound is that it sounds just like the ding noise that happens when the CEL comes on, or when you leave a door open. However, neither of those are the case. Doors closed tight, and no warning lights. I checked to make sure all of my warning bulbs were working, and they all seem to be fine. CEL works, GAS works, OIL works, the car isnt overheating. . .

Ideas?

Strange . . .

It means your hot pockets are done jk man...Its coming from the instrument panel? Could be the CEL but the previous owner took the bulb out

Yeah its defiantly coming from the instrument panel. But, it looks like the CEL works just fine. When I Turn the key into the "on" position, the CEL lights up which tells me the bulb is working . . . right?

But, when I turn the car on, the CEL doesn't come on.

Also, the beep doesn't seem to happen every time I start the car. . .

Hmm maybe the seatbelt reminder? It makes a ding type sound

Hmm could be. . . maybe the ding starts before I click it in?

Although I don't see the seatbelt light turn on either . . .

I might hook my buddies scanner up just to see if there are any codes that are stored. Maybe for some strange reason the CEL works when the key is in the "on" position, but doesn't work when the car is actually on

welcome to the mystery beep. It's just there. No one knows why. If you aren't getting any lights or anything then just deal with it.

Now if you get it while accelerating hard in low gears, your brake light is also coming on for a split second and you are getting low on brake fluid. It sloshes around with hard acceleration and the level sensor reads as low, then back to normal a second later.

So this sounds like a known issue?

And no, the beep isn't during driving, its shortly after start up when the car is in neutral with the E-Brake engaged.

Thanks for the tip though.

ZOMG! The mystery chime returns!

Even the SRT Engineers tremble and become silent before it's might!
