Default Anyone use an Infrared thermometer for troubleshooting?

I just ordered one. I searched and found no matches for it use on this site. I've read about what can be diagnosed; Anything that produces heat can be monitored. Brakes for example to check for a dragging caliper. Engine misfiring. Checking the cooling system. Seems endless. Anyone here have one and what have you used it for on your SRT?

I have one and have only played around with it. I need to take it with me to autocrosses to monitor tire temps throughout the runs.

is that like the lazer gun you point at say your tires to get a temperature? We have one of those and they work great for checking the header temps for each individual tube. i cant think of what it's called damnit, im running on 0 hours of sleep, i think its bout that time.
