Default About to buy a "Shady SRT4"...help please

Tommorrow I'm going to look at a used SRT4 with only 30k miles on it, hopefully going to buy it as well. However I do not know too much about these vehicles, and I haven't yet seen it in person, however I HAVE seen the pics on the site...And I don't know if it's just me but it seems to be "missing an exhaust"? It wasn't mentioned or anything on the site...but I thought I'd ask you experts to be certain...

I know I might be jumping the gun abit, but I get super paranoid and anxious about tomorrow...won't be able to sleep finally driving my dream car!!!

but back on topic...is it just me or is there no exhaust on this car...

Thanks for any help!

The rear fender has been rolled up and theres no dual exhaust. I don't see a side exit exhaust in the pictures so its probably either a dump exhaust or just a straight down pipe. This means that cars going to be loud as hell. Since you don't know anything about these cars. Bring a camera and take pics of the engine than post em up here and members can let you know if its been modified.

sorry about stupid question, but what is a dumped exhaust, and is it bad / detrimental, something I need to bring up to try to get them to lower the price? So with these things done, this means the car was NOT stock from the previous owner?

def not stock. When you drive it the car is going to be loud as balls. Maybe since its so loud you can get them to drop the price. When you are in WOT flames will shoot out of your exhaust though which is pretty cool...It's bad if you have kids that will be sitting in your backseat or anyone else that sits in the back seat. don't go on long drives cause the noise will drive you crazy

oh sorry, I thought that thing was called a rear diffuser, didn't know it was also known as a fender. Thanks!

this "dumped exhaust", and "open downpipe" I did a search on forums and didn't find much as to what exactly these two terms mean. Anyone?

Thanks!

The turbo connects to your o2 housing which connects to the downpipe and the downpipe connects to your dumped exhaust...Basically you are running open exhaust

Essentially, if dumped, you're missing a catalytic converter and your cat-back portion of the exhaust. It's not bad for the car, it's just illegal in some states/places. It's also loud as hell. Otherwise, in terms of performance, you will see some gains depending on how the rest of the car is modified.

It has a after market intake and he painted the injector cover blue and he painted the cap to the coolant bottle blue. It looks like it has a aftermarket wastegate..When you drive it see how much it's boosting...also when you get in the car turn the key all they way on but don't start the car then all the way off and repeat three times. It will start showing you pcm codes. Then write down the codes and we can tell you what they are. I'm pretty sure you are going to have a check engine light because of the dumped exhaust
