shouldn't have a problem, if you really are pushing those hp levels. late c3 and early c4 vettes weren't anything special compared to today's performance specs.
yea he got his engine rebuilt and supposely putting a narley cam in it....i know you get narley hp out of a v8 with a simple cam swap, i doubt he getting tuned..probably going to stay on stock timing...ive beat him b4 when were both pretty much stock..but now we are both modded...
In 1986 they only had 230HP, I would think between power to weight and FWD efficiency that a stock srt-4 would take one. It would be real close, driver's race.
Didn't see he was modded, depends on how well planned his mods are I guess, those are still V8's, could get nasty power from a good build up. Run and find out, just don't go pinks, lol!

"The Cobalt firmly grabs you and whisks you along your way instantly. It does so with authority and poise, but while slipping relatively unnoticed through traffic, never being violent, or dare I say it, frightening. When you ask the SRT-4 to take you somewhere fast, it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder, and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up."
lol...i know stock for stock i can take him, i already prove that to him...but he saying w/ his narley cam he going to be able to take me...i laugh in his face..the kid cant drive...mods is going to be done by a chevy mechanic, he doesnt really know anything about cars....
If he had the motor rebuilt with stock internals, stock exhaust and just this cam, the most hes going to make is 300hp. The 700R4 Trans is a good trans for that time period but it's a slow shifting auto. I would say 300-320 whp should take him but like someone else said it could also be a drivers race.
I had a built 331 stroker motor: forged internals, .600 lift cam, race heads, race intake, race carb and made 400whp.

depending on how he built it up, if he built the original l98 then hes a fool...if he dropped a 4th gen or crate motor in there you night be in trouble.
