How-to: change display color

I thought i should double-post my how-to also here.

FIRST THING BEFORE YOU START:
You will do this on your own risk!
You will loose all waranty from aeroforce for that operation!
You need to know how to handle those very small SMD LEDs and a very thinn soldering needle!
Don't do that if you have never did that before!
Don't try to blame me if you destroy your scangauge while doing that!
But if you pay attention you will absolutely enjoy the new look of your scangauge!

There it is - the brandnew scangauge. Let's hack that thing!
Image: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6J6s4Uk-I/AAAAAAAAH9M/zEUiUcBvgsU/s800/P1100474.JPG

First remove the bezel and the lens (hmmm, somewhere in the forums is a nice way shown with a flat screwdriver.).
Be carefull not to bend it to much - you can see that later!
Image: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KAhyVv8I/AAAAAAAAH9Q/2VELRCfTw3o/s800/P1100476.JPG

Okay, thats the "before" - green light
Image: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KC7BC3BI/AAAAAAAAH9U/3L0yjYJq8a0/s800/P1100479.JPG

Carefully separate the circuit boards from eachother and remove the display.
(Display is soldered with 2 pins to the upper and connected with a flat cable to the lower board.
Image: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KF78PLKI/AAAAAAAAH9Y/fXXrg5_wmzg/s800/P1100483.JPG

Carefully remove the with sticker from the display backside
Image: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KKujL4NI/AAAAAAAAH9c/cP0AjrPWfeU/s800/P1100485.JPG

Now you can see the 2 very small leds
Image: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KPY-wOoI/AAAAAAAAH9g/022ZT_Gqxwg/s800/P1100487.JPG

You can trust me: They are VERY small and you need a very small soldering needle, very thinn solder and good experiences with soldering that small smd parts.
Don't try that if you never worked with smd leds before! You must solder very quick and you will destroy the leds or even the display in no second!!!
Take care that you solder them in right direction (you see the marked corner?)
Image: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6Ka4R-bsI/AAAAAAAAH9k/7FgiE9LSzPI/s800/P1100488.JPG

And if you did everything right it will look like mine (or maybe in an other color??)
Image: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6Kd42q9xI/AAAAAAAAH9o/CA_tX0C6Ihk/s800/P1100489.JPG

Yeah i love that bright blue!
Image: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KfWGqpSI/AAAAAAAAH9s/dLYnDFqWrY8/s800/P1100491.JPG

The finished pod with black surface (simple vinyl)
Image: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_08Eqp0neK6c/Sv6KhtQVlMI/AAAAAAAAH9w/v-uqYpWAPpM/s800/P1100493.JPG

It is also possible to have it blue with white letters, but that is professional league - therefor you must also change the display polarizing filter film.
And THAT is a freaking PITA!!!
:wah?!:

I bought an almost brandnew scangauge from ebay.
The sticker says "CNC501V3.3".
When i connect it to the ODB2 - with just that grey wire, there was no "3-pin" in the box - it starts, shows the logo, second logo and then "annunciator is not set up".
Than it shows for a few seconds 2 parameters (or better: only the title but no data).
But after that the 2 red leds are flashing twice and the scangauge turns off.
It makes no difference if i plug it in with ignition on/off or engine on/off. Tried everything.
It just turns off after the start procedure and i cannot turn it on anymore.
It will also not turn on when i turn off engine and start it again.

When i press the the 2 buttons while startup, i can enter the menu and can setup whatever i wanna.

The manual is no big help for me - it is 1st somehow complicated for my bad english (so damned many possibilities) and i can 2nd find nothing about "reset to delivery status".

I'm not sure but i think the scangauge was made for a CSRT.

So here are the questions:
Will a CSRT scangauge not work with NSRT?
What else could it be?
How can i reset all setup parameters?
What is the best setup for my SRT?
(There are soooooo many points that i can choose - that is too much for me!)

Scangauge Sucking power from afr output

hey guys, ive got a scanguage and the aeroforce afr kit. The wideband is installed correctly, but the gauge will not display afr's. At first I thought it was the installation, but I started checking voltage with a multimeter. When the wideband is plugged in by itself, and the car is turned on, it gives like 5-7 volts to the sensor wire, and drops to 2.78 or something like that a little bit. However, when I hook the scangauge sensor wire to the input on the scanguage, the voltage drops to 0.8, and so the scangauge only reads 11.5. If I unplug the sensor output from the scangauge input, the scangauge reads 10.0(slope 2, int is 10), and the voltage output from the wideband kit goes up to 2.78....

so, why does hooking up the scangauge cause the voltage to drop so much?
