what w series jl sub are you looking at?
try and hit up a local shop and see what they offer as far as speakers go and that way you can here how they sound, i know this isnt the best way because every set up is different but it can give you a general idea of what you may want
right now i run polk 6.5s in the door 6x9s in the back and modded my dash 2 fit a 4 inch polk. i personall like the way they sould as far as sq goes but i aslo purchased them because i got an employee discount at the time.
everything is a personal preference as far as brand i like Polk/JL subs and speakers and am a die hard pioneer HU person. and like stated before every brand has some sort of low end speaker and high end speaker.
how much are you lookin to spend for a whole set up

-3.5 for the dash if you plan on replacing them
-6.5 components for the door. run off an amp for best results
you can mount the tweeter in the door sail which is probably the most popular or you can opt for mounting in the pillars if you arent running or planning to run triple gauge
-6x9's for the rear
8-10" sub depending on how much trunk space your willing to sacrifice. if you find a reputable shop around there and dnt mind spending the money you can opt for a Glassed box by the wheel well

Just ask ?'s retail like best buy are gonna try and sell u everything and anything they can to make money i use to work at circuit city and saw it happen all the time take the time to research a few brands you like and see what fits your budget and buy
and search out sonic electronix they tend to have cheaper prices then alot of other online retailers if you plan on going that way
