The oil in the car at delivery is NOT synthetic. Synthetic is recommended for "spirited " driving. 5W-30 or 10W-30 is determined by the temperatures in your area; i.e. 5W-30 for colder climates and 10W-30 for warmer. There is NO recommendation to use only one multi grade regardless of temperature.
