I have the tools and even though I do not need them all the time I have no interest in selling them because they are so handy, but you can buy them and then resell them to recoup the costs.
I would not hammer them on. Possible damage to the pump gears and the thrust bearing is not worth the chance ($37 is not too much). If any thing, get two damper bolts and cut the head off of one and weld it to the other and use a nut and small bearing to make a ghetto tool.
