I've been detailing mine for 2.5 years with the stripes on the car. Your best bet if you aren't used to working around them is to run two long pieces of masking tape down the side when you wax the car. Claybar will not harm them at all, but it also will not remove swirl marks. Claybar removes surface contaminants, not swirls. If you happen to get wax or polish on them, use a detailing spray to remove it or wax/tar/grease remover such as Dupont's Prep Sol solvent.
