Actually they are very similar. 2 significant differences though.
The MDX were made for H11 Halogen bulbs & the Rx's are made with D2S HID bulbs. D2S's are prefered when converting to HID's as they allow you to use genuine Phillips bulbs which are higher quality then re-based no-name china bulbs made to fit for the H11 socket.
Also the MDX's have what are called "squirel spotters" which are basically long rectangular slits which let a small amount of light peek through & shine above the cutoff. Since Halogen bulbs are dimmer this is added to allow you to see street sighns etc...
The Rx's don't have these as the brightness of the HID's would blind people if it leaked light above the cutoff.
