any explanation?
Actually, 4th gear is much closer to a 1:1 ratio than 3rd gear. If anything, an underdriven gear (3rd being underdriven) would create inflated dyno numbers as opposed to an overdriven gear (4th being overdriven).
Here are the gear ratios straight from the service manual:
1st: 3.65
2nd: 2.05
3rd: 1.37
4th: 0.97
5th: 0.76
reverse: 3.47
final ratio: 3.53
And how can you call bullshit? Look around for my posts! Ask Nemo for crying out loud! I'm currently having him getting my rods built and he has a set of pistons at his shop ready to ship out, all for a build I'm currently working on! I've got so much shit lying around in my room that needs to be installed in the car, including suspension parts, transmission parts, and engine parts...all of which are going into the car at the same time!
Look at a year ago when I put down 609 whp corrected, was on a stock bottom end at that time as well!
Ask Thesleeper on here! He's a close friend who knows my car. We've been friends since we were both practically stock!
Cortney Green (you'll know who he is if you have ever followed NHRA SFWD), who is local to me, would vouch for the stock bottom end, since he tuned it for me the first time I dyno'd at 609 whp!
