get that thing up on a rack and take a look at it.. somthing sounds busted in the front end. its hard to tell just by geting a cluncking noise, it could be anything, when you get it up int he air go over everything twice somthing defently wrong.. i wana say its the axle but i dont know it dosent make sence why it would matter what gear and if the clutch is engaged or not..
Yeah check your Cv axle sounds like the same problem I had in my civic (DD)
