if you alter the stock struts with lowering springs you are def. going to have a stiffer ride. If you do anything different you will notice a difference. I had hotchis springs on my car and it was stiffer/bumpier then a stock srt. Now i have meghan racing coilovers and it is a lot stiffer and bumpier no matter how soft/hard my damper is, BUT i love the way the car responds and how stiff it is. Handling is 10x better now.
