Take those individually as just neat stuff that's coming out...
What I want to ask is what you guys think of touch screens being integrated into gaming. Would you guys want a touch screen pad to replace a mouse? Not in the aspect of the screen you're viewing to be touch screen because that would obviously just get in the way (for an FPS game), but a pad that emulates a mouse, similar to a laptop touch pad.
The Stantum Pmatrix allows for multi-touch... which has a lot of really great aspects, combine that with a large touch screen and you have pretty much the technology displayed in
Minority Report.
What if they developed a pad that had integrated directional movement (8 way+)... tap, double tap, pinch, 1-2 tap, pretty much any feature any current mouse has, plus the ability to add hotkeys. Would you guys be interested in using something like that or do you feel its a long way off before the mouse is replaced for a PC gamer?
Responsiveness and the ability to differentiate between taps and # of fingers etc would really make or break the use, but the price to obtain that would be key.
What would you like to see done with touch screen/mirror technology?
