On my crx I took a bar of soap what ever kind you want and rubbed it on the outside of the belt not the part that has teeth the smooth side so I could get rid of that rubber on metal squal you might be hearing. It worked for like 2years or you can go buy some belt dressing either way itll go away but the soap thing smells way better even after a few months. You can always take the upper timing belt cover off just to take a peak. All I did was identify where the noise was coming from. I heard the knocking and I just listened real carefully and i felt the timing belt cover to discover a realy hard knocking. After that I knew what had to be done. I had to take it apart to see what was worng but I went as far a removing the top timing belt cover but there was no sign of damage to the belt it self but it could have stretched from being pulled with a little bit of resistance. In my case my timing was screwed up and there wasnt any damage to the belt so something had to cause it. You can take it as far as your want but the root of the problem hasnt surfaced just yet.
