i will say this though if you are gonna compare the two you should give credit to the car that best showcases its retro styling. IMHO the Challenger is more true to the original while the Camaro has styling cues that clash with the retro theme. While im not a huge fan of the new Camaro it does look clean as hell just not what you'd want to compare with a 68 cause its not true to the retro theme gm started with. Im just glad that in my lifetime theres a new pony war with cars that are far more advanced, safer and more environmentally friendly than the originators. Im glad GM, Ford and Chrysler have all collectively stepped up to offer the world these new incarnations worthy of being exported bearing "Made in the USA" for everyone to enjoy

If it were a matter of choice....heres how i see it

Challenger SRT8- 2+2 cruiser, definitely a looker and definitely more could have been added to make it more appealing to the performance minded. I suspect may a 6.4L would get the Chevy boys riled up

camaro SS- unique looks, definitely aimed at performing and value is its strong point

Ford GT500- expensive....., definitely a looker and aside from those two it relies too much on nostalgia. If it wasnt for the aftermarket this car would be lost but thankfully several have made it into the 9s with bolt ons
