LACR up in Palmdale closed last year so the only quarter-mile track that's open somewhat regularly now is
Fontana. If you want to get a lot of track time in, the best bet is to look for some of the private track rentals. Expensive but worth it unless you're happy with
maybe 3 or 4 passes on the street legal days (and they're talking about banning slicks at street legal days if they aren't DOT approved). There's also
Pomona which is probably the best track in SoCal but they've only been having a couple events a year that are open to the public. If you're willing to drive out to Bakersfield there's
Famoso and a couple people on here race out there. For me I can get to
Vegas almost as fast as Fontana but it can be hit or miss for conditions.
If you're looking for an eighth-mile track you've got
Irwindale, which if you catch on a night with good prep is a pretty sticky track. There was another one down in Perris that closed last year and also
Barona, but it's pretty far south. If the urge catches you to drag race in a parking lot with parking lot type surface prep and a bunch of ricer types (which sadly includes a lot of SRT-4 owners in the region), you've got the occasional
Qualcomm events.
