I would assume this is all software based, so I wonder why it wouldn't work. N2MB sells a device that can turn both DAB and HOM features on, on any s3 pcm, toys or no toys. This to me proves it is software based.

All stage 3 PCM's have the hardware and software built into them even if it is sold as "w/o toys", but stage 2 pcm's without toys and stage 1 and stock do not have the hardware. If you look at your pcm you will see a fourth area for a plug but it is empty. This is where the toys plug in. if it's empty, you do not have the hardware for it so having the software makes no difference. If you have the hardware, then you should, SHOULD, be able to start with the stage 3 tune and work from there. But since you have the sct you can easily tune the car so it doesn't need the "higher" map.
