As far as using your car, that's a copout. Let me offer you another option, one you would be wise to choose: We'll find a NASA or Koni team willing to rent us their car for the day, we will split the rental fee, and we'll drive the same unknown car under equal circumstances. I'm thinking an AI Mustang, which can be had for about $3K a day, or something similar. Let's make it a driver's race. It's bad enough I have to drive all the way south so you can run on home ground.
Frankly, I wish I knew what your problem was. You've been trying to get my attention for more than two years now. I don't know how to tell you this, but you're the only person left who has any issue regarding our class win in 2006. Brock doesn't care. Brock Jr. doesn't care. Nobody at Road America cares - we'll be back racing there this year. Dale doesn't care.
The only person left who cares is you, and I can't figure out why. You weren't involved in any aspect of the "situation", you aren't a team member of anybody involved, and you aren't even a racer. Everybody has moved on and shaken hands, with the exception of goofy ol' Douglas Wind, who wasn't even a player in the original deal. It's kind of pathetic. You're like the ugly girl in high school who walks in on a clique laughing about something and laughs right along even though she doesn't know the joke. Then everybody stops laughing, but she doesn't know if she should or not.
My advice to you would be to focus on your own driving career and stop worrying about what other people are doing. The word I've used to describe you in previous posts is "wannabe", and I think it applies. Other people are out racing, working with manufacturers, building teams, winning races (or losing 'em) and in general progressing. What are you doing? Not much. And now you think you can become famous by running against me in a time trial? If it makes you happy. Brian will sort out the details and come up with a contract for you to sign.
Your buddy is the one who said "I pick the track". I picked VIR and immediately you are upset with my choice. He said "I pick the car" and you don't like that. He said he would cover the costs...well OK! He asked me "what the stakes were" and I said I would put up a grand.
Well we could run at one of the excellent tracks that are available half way between us in either Tennessee or Kentucky! Oh wait....there are no tracks there.
I picked VIR since it is the closest Southern track to you and I actually have only 1 track day on full course (on street tires) other than One Lap, so that should be fair enough. If I wanted Home Track Advantage I would have said CMP, RRR or Road Atlanta, all of which are much closer to me than VIR, and I have driven them a LOT more.
Yeah...your "nearly five years" and 122 posts mean you would be losing a lot...You hadn't posted in almost two years until someone told you that I brought up your mad tite skillz in this thread.
You have nothing to lose with backing out of One Lap either as even when you were entered in One Lap you weren't competitive and your "CLASS WIN" which no one has an issue with is meaningless
because you didn't beat anyone! You were the only car in your class! No wonder nobody cares...including me since I only looked up that information today. All I knew about you was your stupid donut manuever and your threats about a lawsuit.
Yeah...lets rent someone else race car....since I run a FWD car I think I'll pass on the AI rental. I never claimed to be an accomplished racer and I freely admit I have little experience in anything other than my SRT-4, nor have I ever claimed to. So if you want to talk shit about me being a lowly wannabe time trialer, I say step up and beat me at my game.
As far as my career goes, I have no intentions of becoming a famous race car driver
like yourself, I run TT for fun and I enjoy winning more than my fair share of events against those in NASA's TTS Time Trials Group as well as One Lap, that's all. If you aren't familiar with the type of cars in that group, I will enlighten you. Mostly C5 & C6 Z-06's, Porsche 996 & 997 GT3's a mixture of supercharged Mustangs and the occasional highly-prepped Panoz or Brunton Super Stalker. Off the top of my head, I would estimate that I have won over 50% of my events (typically 4-7 other cars depending on the track) and all in my little under-prepared FWD shoebox.
Oh yeah...in case you missed it I did win my class (over 10 other cars) and finish in the TOP 5 in the 2007 One Lap. We would have easily won again this year, but a minor mechanical issue, which caused a single DNF, put us down by 15 class points in the end, and we still finished Top 15, have you ever done that in One Lap? I didn't think so, but since TT events are beneath you...I guess OLA doesn't matter either.
Off track my priorities are much higher. I have two awesome little kids and a beautiful wife whom I love to spend as much time with as possible, so your pitiful attempts to belittle my focus are worthless and trying to bait me into become "a racer" like you carries less than ZERO weight.
I have no problem with you. I didn't search you out trying to pick a fight, I simply smelled something shitty, pointed at it and laughed!
Maybe I missed it....did you tell us all about your Stage 3 SRT-4 that you owned previously????
