I am sure that your cig lighter works fine because you probably fried the dock and not your cig lighter. You might be able to take a car charger for a PDA or iPod and cut the end (charger end) off and wire it to the dock wires. Then you would have to disassamble the end that plugs into the cig lighter socket and and hard wire it to the back of the cig lighter.

You might be able to pick one of these up and disassamble it and hard wire it.
