You think surge happens with a smaller AR? Couldnt it still surge with a .63? or less often?
yes surge happens when the compressor is too large for the turbine wheel and/or turbine housing and is sucking in more than what it can push out.
so it ends up being a choking point and the exhaust reverts back thru the system...
thats basically what surge is.
if you have surge w/ the .63 now, itll be TONS worse w/ the .48
