very true although most CAI's are not chassis grounded seeing as they use rubber couplers.. and they run beside the battery not ontop once the hood goes down there wouldnt be enough clearence for the CAI to touch the top of the battery...now maybe the battery hold down broke and the battery is hitting the hood?.......But that doesnt explain the louder then normal spooling either......

take a close look under the hood when you get a chance I'm sure you will find the issue....
