The way I look at it, the canned tunes may not be perfect, but when you buy the AGP tune they at least offer free modifications to the maps via email. Eventually all of these little issues that people bring up will be worked through, and I'm guessing they'll come to the point of releasing a "2.0" map which will resolve them.
Paying more for the canned tune with infinite free support is probably equal to paying less for a custom tune that cannot be modified or doesn't have free support, in the long run.
