Are you talking about a kit to just remove the chain or to remove the whole assembly and thus also save the extra weight? If you are talking about one to actually remove the assembly I say get on it asap. I have read trhough almost every post on this and none of them have come to one consensus, so a kit that would eliminate any guessing would be great. Even if the kit was just an easy to follow and proven method that removes all the guess work I say go for it.
