I agree with you 100%. I hope (from the past) that you didn't take this too harshly. If you should see the condition of my car right now (For the past year) you'd laugh as well. The things said to me would be far worse. My first dash project was/is horrid, but it will be redone soon enough. The value of the system alone you would think it would be nicely installed, boy, I am impatient; I also needed the car :X I think it is a great starter point.
