Last I checked Methanol here was less than $4 a gallon, and isopropyl was ~$10+ a gallon. Methanol has the highest octane also.
Methanol cost me $55 for a 5 gallon pail last year. This year they want $70. I can get it much cheaper from Burke, our shops fuel supplier, but the catch is I need to buy a 55 gallon drum.
Just don't have a place to store that much flamable liquid on my property.
The chemical supply stores in my area blame the small quantity cost on shipping. Haz-mat and such. Wish it was only $4 because it works real well.
