can you explain Deep and shallow staging.....aswell as powershifting vs granny shifting and what to do when excessive wheelhop is encountered ?
i'll do it...
Deep stage- is when you roll foward till the second lights trip on but you inch a lil foward almost cutting them off but not quite. I wouldnt suggest this in an SRT4.
Shallow staging- is when you roll forward till the second set of staging lights are barely tripped but are on. This would be ideal for the SRT because of FWD setup, wheel spin and wheelhop in consideration i find that street tire cars get better 60 foots.
powershifting- S1 guys can try this and shave off a lil time from their ETs. Stage 1 cars come with a peak hold feature which holds the boost while you keep the throttle Wide open and shift. For those who dont follow you keep right foot planted, quickly disengage clutch, shift quickly and put it into the next gear.... its not good for the clutch S1 or not but shaves a lil time off
Granny shifting - is everday putt putt around town shifting...self explanatory
Wheelhop- if you encounter ecessive wheelhop what works best for me is to backpedal a lil so that when 2nd comes i dont bog and make the run worse than what it already is. Backpedaling is when you ease off the throttle slightly and press it gently until you get the desired amount of traction before shifting. Most people can modulate their right foot very well so it may not work for all.
