I have since relocated it up under the hood, less than 2 inches from the tank, and now there will be no question that it will work flawless, every time. Its also nice because its less wire, less hose, and less things that can go wrong.

I understand the reasons behind the vender stating that the pump should be located within a certain distance to the bottle, but everything gives way to simple physics. If you install the system correcty and properly purge the system of all air, keep the bottle filled at all times, than you'll never have a problem with scavaging, there is enough of a vacume on the system to draw the liquid and since there is no way for air to get into the system unless the bottle is run empty, you would never have had a problem with his setup.
