Building a '02 Celica GTS for RR... Few Q?
Hello all,
My friend and I are building his GTS into a track car. I remember one or two members here used to autoX and road race a Celica. Just wanted to see if anyone had some tips or must-do modifications on the high reving n/a cars.
We just installed Hotchkis sways, lowering springs (1.5"), stainless break lines, gutted the car completely and will have a cage soon. He removed the muffler and one res. Car sounds mean when it hits the lift, however he is experiencing popping and spuddering at high rpm's. We haven't touched the engine yet so I'm not sure what is the matter. What would be a good means to doing basic tuning? Do they make chips for these cars.
I want my friend to get some track time before he touches the engine. I was very surprised how fast his car is through the twisties.
We will be heading up to Savannah sometime soon and after that, Sebring. I need to do some research on the engine and find out what mods are best for the high revs.
