haha i had a guy the other day insisting that his amp was going into protect because it was a 2000w 2ch amp and he only had a 500w (actual RMS) dual 4 sub and the amp somehow knew that it would blow the sub so it was protecting his sub. He absolutely refused to listen to reason and called me an idiot .

You should have seen the look I got when I started talking about Ohms law and not only how it was utterly impossible for his amp to make 2000w as well as ridiculous to think that an amp was somehow "smart enough" to know it was hooked up to a certain rated sub .
