Clearwater beach is nice but I've only gone there to go to the resturants they have out there which are awesome! Anna Maria I've been to once and it was nice out there. You can actually just travel across most of the beaches. John's Pass is more for fishing/amusement/attractions which is a great place to hang out.
I really don't have a favorite as I really don't go to the beaches out here.
