my plans were to go....had the DRs all loaded up but when i got to the dyno the car required way more fixing than could be done in a timely fashion so i patiently waited. People if you are going to install a turbo kit make sure you dont cut ANY corners specially a 50trim with the new style cast manifold from AGP. Some head studs require a lil cutting/triming to allow a nut to be put on at the end of it and also dont reuse the exhaust manifold gasket off your stock turbo....new ones are too cheap as are all the head studs, bolts and nuts. Once the car was exhaust leak free i proceeded with tuning it mind you its fairly basic on mods and i think it may have a few boost leaks.
Its got Bfmic, DW750s, Walbro 255, 3in crimp bent SEE, 3in DP, Filter on turbo, AGP 50trim (w/ .63AR) and SAFC I. On pump gas, heatsoaked and with one hour of tuning...i had to battle boost leaks, over gapped plugs, entirely too much fuel hahaha but in the end 358fwhp/363wt and i further tweaked the AF curve to net final pull of 360fwhp/360wt. I have to spend more time with his setup as it spikes 15 then builds to 19-20 up top, i feel i should have him downgrade to DW650s because the 750s returnless with walbro is entirely too much. I was hoping to do race fuel but he was very intent on the pump gas.
I know theres more there but i tuned conservatively to 11.8 AFR up top as it was fairly cool in/out of the shop plus never know when you'll get a bad tank of 93 octane. Basically my day revolved around getting that car to go....12psi on wastegate pressure and too much fuel was my starting point....all 136fwhp the car didnt even make it to 4000rpm before it loaded up. 13 pulls later i was able to take him out and he was scared of the added power but i warned him to just be carefull in 1st or 2nd how he drives as it gets pretty interesting
hope you guys had fun, off to work on what will become Tampa's only 09' Onelap entry
