I am part of an Avenger/Sebring club....we've been having our National Meet for the last few years in Naperville, IL. Even though our platform is getting older, we still have a good turn out. We base our event for a Fri-Sat-Sun weekend. Friday we gather at the hotel, hang out, BS, drink/eat, and have fun. Saturday we have a Show-n-Shine at the local Preserve where we grill out, chill out, and do our Awards. About 45-60 miles away is a Drag track that has test/tune weekend, so interested people can go and drag for a small fee. Sunday is the Mo-Power Mopar Car Show in Naperville where our club goes and represents. The last few years we've had our "Show" in conjunction with the Stratusphere (Dodge Stratus) and Intrepid Car Clubs which increases the total number of participants as well as the overall enjoyment of the weekend--its nice to have some diversity.
It doesn't cost us much, besides the $$ to drive to Illinois and the $$ for the motel/food. We all pitch in $10 bucks for the awards and the cost of renting the Preserve. We often go out dining as a large group, or to the Strip Club, or Go-Karting, but the best times are had just hanging out in the parking lot of the hotel--drinking and bench racing and just enjoying the company of our car club (putting faces with screen names).
Our Club also enjoys doing a large meet at the July Carlisle Mopar show. Just something to think about...as you don't necessarily have to spend the big bucks to have a great National Meet.
