I've heard that excuse too many times. I give mine up for others to use and learn from. If they blow it up using my map, it's their fault not mine. I can't tune their car from here and every car's different. On the other hand it may help them. Other people's maps helped me get mine running.
The only person who should be hiding their maps is a tuner who makes his living on tuning peoples cars.
