Red04 has a good point. You can't expect them to warranty it from one car to the other. I don't know of any vendor that will warranty a turbo to other than the original car. I wonder though why some of these blow up after all. Could it be they were not installed properly? There are a lot of e1's out there that don't blow up.
Don't you have to "prime" the turbo with oil before the initial startup and break it in properly before running it hard? I'm planning on buying an e1 soon as well.
Man another thread bashing the E1. I have to agree it sucks, you invest your money and time and all you have is agravation and dissapointment. The E1 is great i have been in many rides with one and must say its something else. BUT this turbo is not "bolt on" as the forward says. If you have a boost leak this will cause your E1 to blow, if install goes bad your e1 can blow, if your unluckly your e1 will blow. The e1 requires a DIRECT fit FMIC meaning you can get the big one. I had a chance to pick one up but i didnt on account i am unlucky when it comes to modding.
BTW answering your question it does not require preoiling. Not even a break in period. There was one cause where a guy preoiled his an it still took a shit. So you never no.
