Well, unless you're running cast iron rings from days of old,(which is where the 500 mile break in myth started) you don't need to break it in. Now a days we use moly rings, they pretty much seat right away. As for your valve seats, they seat within a few miles. Machine parts don't "wear in". When I bought my srt, I hammered on it on the way home, changed the oil and went racing that night. My dads srt was baybied for the 1st 500 miles and broke in per manufactures specs and up till the day I pulled my motor to build it, my compression numbers were better than his number because of better valve and ring seating from the get go.
