I saw a thread on it awhile back where they said it helped hp but hurt tq.What would be nice is if they found a way to make a controller so it progressively opened based on rpm that would be sick.

They do have one like that, Its controlled off of boost. When there is a certain psi of boost, the cutout is opened.

But there were no noticable gains over just having the cutout open, all it does is cause the motor to wear faster.

Hmm I would think it would help on the low end. I heard (when it first came out) the evo had something similar inside the factory exhaust. Of course that was what the dlr said so it means less then the value of a 350z but in all seriousness i never heard anything about that again I thought it was cool but at the same time dumb because everyone would end up changing it.




I agree I would think it would help... but then again... you gotta remember that it takes like 5 seconds for the downpipe to open fully... then it closes back once you start shifting cause the boost is cut off... so... Its too complicated.

Yeah I can see how that slow ass motor would make it useless for that type application.

Well, what can you expect.... I hear that qtp and needswings both use 350Z motors to open the cutout flanges. With that crappy of a motor, you can't really expect anything to be fast.
