I actually think the 3.8 is fine in the new Wrangler. The 4.0 in the Wrangler was NEVER fast, it WAS torquey, but the new Wrangler with the 3.8 and the lower gearing is plenty. I wouldn't want much more power in a Wrangler IMHO My SRT-4 and other toys are for going fast, my Wrangler is for going anywhere. I've wheeled with a few so far, and they are VERY capable. Anyway being underpowered has always been a calling card for the CJ/YJ/TJ/and now JK models. All the way back to the Go Devil 4 and Hurricane 4. Its a JEEP, its not meant to be fast. Unfortunately, 90% of the owners will never realize how capable the new Wrangler is.

The other day I passed a new Rubicon Unlimited rollin on 24" Dubs, now THAT is disgusting.
