Since no one's hijacked the wiring to use the stock solenoids for boost control, no one seems to know for sure how good or bad they may be.
However, you have S3, as did I at one point, and the DAB and regular boost control seems to be fairly quick, and obviously will run well over 20 psi.
Seeing as how we all still have our stock solenoids hooked up, if you could make all this work, I for one would love to try it.
gear-specific boost? Cutting boost when wheel spin in detected to regain traction? I'll be honest, I can't currently get up from my desk at work because I am so excited about the thought.
If you did something like that, how hard would it be to specify what amount of boost you wanted in each gear ( or at least 1st, 2nd, and the rest together)? I would think you'd need to make that easily changed by the user, so they could run more in the lower gears at the track on slicks, and less on the street.
