Well, so why are none of them wiring only? Presumably the stock vacuum setup and solenoids are sufficient to control the boost. Am I wrong? Are there limitations to the stock vacuum setup? It would seem to me as long as you took over control of the WGA solenoid, you could set any boost level you want... I'm making 23-24 lbs now with my stock S3... Which is kind of funny because it is higher than the spec for OBD, so the data wraps around into the vacuum region!

I'm not sure what the general theory of traction control is. Presumably, the TCS guys chose ignition timing for the traction control for a reason. Perhaps adjusting boost for control traction is too slow? Although, I'm pretty sure that VEMS does it that way...

I see no reason to need external switches for gear selection. I got it working pretty damn well with just the OBD bus, and not even using active commands. Just passively looking at the data. :-) Of course, that is SRT specific, but I'm not too worried about that.

2-step certainly is an ignition only feature...

So, maybe an electronic boost controller is in our future... I might like to try turning up the boost on my car a bit... I imagine S3 has a few more pounds in it, at least once I do the fuel pump rewire mod...
