i think its in the way you place the tape, the thread starter put up an image of where the tape should be, did you put it on that way?

Notice on mine where the little lip is and where the tape is placed. I used to softer stuff, but wish i would have used the harder stuff.

No, thats how I did the tape on the seal. I used the harder stuff and it doesn't seem as flexible as the foam seal in the picture. Maybe thats whats causing it to bow outward. Its fine until I get around the curve in the bumper by the fog light then I'm fighting it to go around the curve, and it starts bowing out. I might try cutting some slits in the seal around the curve to allow it to curve easier. 3rd times a charm... We'll see. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get some more tape...
