we designed it to be inside the car for ease of operation as well as the the elements.the less wires going through the engine bay the cleaner it will look anyway.im guessing your concern is rfi? it wont make a difference as long as your connections are solid

RFI, resistance losses, wire capacitance, signal waveform distortion, all those goodies. Keep in mind I'm planning on adding that TCS box as well, so the wiring chain gets even longer. Maybe I'm just paranoid as I think I've tracked my stumble down to the MSD tach adapter I installed last year; stumble coincides with the shift light not working.

Also, no USB port in place of the serial?

no problems with rfi or resistance, we originally had some issues with the clutch signal because of noise from the bus and the asd circuit but we fixed that.you can always get a serial to usb adapter,i prefer serial anyway because you dont have to worry about having to search the internet high and low for a driver
