MS doesn't use the cam sensor. It's probably yhe cold start cranking settings... mine still doesn't want to start cold, but that's because of the walbro255 not holding pressure. Once I start it and rev it for a sec it runs fine. If not it starts, then dies. It also has a long crank time because of the fuel pressure drop of and drain back when key off. It could be yoru problem. Walbro 255s are notorious for that.
