I have noticed the same thing...but this thing does pull like crazy all the way to redline.
oh ya the turbo pulls way hard to redline. dynoing very soon I will post numbers 28psi
I have been raping 50 trim srt's all day here. it being 47lb per min vs. 50 trim 50lb per min. just tuning.
but I believe the compressor wheel is a dbb 50 trim wheel and a smaller compresser housing to4b i believe instead of the t04e used on the 50 trim. Now feel free to correct me if I am wrong but that is what I was told.
I've heard the 3147 is an excellent performer, that's why I started this thread. I don't mean to sound like its a bad setup at all, I'd just hate having one and needing it serviced (no turbo will last forever).
The 50 trim is rated at 47 lb/min. AGP also rates the 3147 at 47 lb/min, too. There is no difference between a 50 trim compressor wheel and a DBB 50 trim compressor wheel, the "DBB" designation only refers to the type of bearing in the bearing housing (center section). I've seen a picture of a 3147 where it had an 8 blade compressor wheel, and there's no compressor wheel in either the Garrett T3 or T04 family that have 8 blades. Most all have 6 blades, with the only exception I know of is the 60-1, that has 7. I also remember the old Buick Grand National using a special GM "one off" proprietary T3-family wheel made by Garrett with 7 blades. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong...
