Default How To: Install Jensen Flip Up Head Unit

Alright bought this thing off Crutchfield.com, came with all the goodies to install.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-aQ2ROQy...0&I=110VM9311T

Tools:

Phillips Screwdriver
Electrical Tape
Stacons, or Solder gun and wire.

First off you will need to make your wire harness up, if you get a harness here is the diagram with what you need to go where. *NOTE: You will not connect brown, orange or the solid blue, the blue with white strip is the power for your rear amp if you have a Livin Loud System

Now that your system is wired together you are ready to put this thing in the car, next lets go outside and see what we have\

All you will need tool wise to install this whole thing is a phillips screwdriver as mentioned above, first take out the top two vents. You do this by rotating them, like your pointing them to the ground and they will pop out.

Above where they came out you will see two phillips screws, take them out, and pop the bottom of the whole bezel off, now you can see everything.

Now pull the 4 screws out that are holding the headunit in, disconnect the main harness and the cd changer harness if you have one. *Note you will not be connecting the smaller harness back up as it is not supported. Also make sure you get your cd's out, im dumb and didnt.

Now i pulled out the dash below the radio so i could get to things easier, i also routed my switch for the e-brake ground here. For the Jensen unit if you want to watch stuff while driving you must put a ground switch on. In the handbook you have to engage, disengage, and engage the ebrake for it to work, this switch will cover this. *Note: You want a two prong switch only!

Note the switch below after it was all put together.

I also decided to put the accessory box in the glove compartment, you can hook up your 3 RCA jacks, hook up you XM or IPOD directly from this box, very cool if you ask me.

I would suggest this unit to everyone, it definetly gets better radio signal then the stocker unit. Plus all the cool features, its def. nice.

Enjoy and if you install one and need some help, dont be afraid to ask
